Novell’s Earnings Increase Thanks to Lawsuit, Positive Linux Results

According to LinuxInsider, “Novell on Thursday reported $23.4 million in earnings, reversing a $12.4 million loss the same time last year.” One area of interest in Novell’s performance was related to its embrace of the Linux operating system. Jack Messman, Novell’s C.E.O., said, “One of the bright spots in the information technology market is the popularity of the Linux operating system, Linux momentum is building… [and] we remain very positive on this market for the near and long term.” This is truly good news for both Novell and Linux.
