Offbeat Travel

It is the time of year when everyone starts thinking about taking time off and heading for a vacation site for relaxation. Since not everyone is interested in heading to the beach or the mountains, we thought if we could find a site that gave travelers other options, that it would be a good site to feature. Well, we found one.

The name of the site is Offbeat Travel. This site is designed to provide travel destinations and information for the discriminating traveler with an eclectic sense of adventure. Some of the featured vacations they have currently are a trip to Austria to celebrate Mozart’s Austria, a visit to Chautauqua, New York to feed your mind and body, and a special trip to Paradise Island where you can visit and not even get wet.

There are travel news and events that are divided up geographically, as well as information on hotels (unless you want to just hang out on the beaches). There is a special feature on New York City, which we all know is more than just a state of mind. An interesting feature is the Armchair Traveler, which is a section on books that highlight travels to exotic and interesting locations that follow the site’s theme.

This site has collected quite a bit of information about locations that many of us are familiar with but never really taken the time to find out about. I mean most of us were aware that Mozart was born in Austria, but Offbeat Travel has taken the extra step to point out sites that relate to him. The Warp-o-Meter gives this site an 8.0 rating.
