Ancient Empires Lux

Sillysoft Games has released its new strategy game Ancient Empires Lux. It’s available now to download for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. The game lets players take control of the greatest early civilizations of mankind, including Egypt, Greece, and Rome.

Ancient Empires Lux is a strategy game, but also fits into the “casual games” segment of PC games. It’s distributed exclusively online, with a small download size, no load times, and a $20 price.

Ancient Empires is the third Lux game developed by Sillysoft, all using a Risk inspired turn-based strategy gameplay. This new game promises bigger maps, more statistics, and the ability to play as any of the nations vying for control of each empire. There’s a total of 58 different starting positions to try to win from, some more difficult than others.

Each empire comes as a map containing the real geographic layout marking the important cities and regions of the time. Background information on each empire is included, along with links to full histories. Gamers beware: if you’re not careful, playing this game might actually teach you some ancient history.
