UnderCoverXP v1.14

It has been a long time since I did some high end organizing of my burned DVD and CD collection. I used to jump through all of the hoops, print labels and make boxes for each one. That is a lot of work though. These days I just grab a black permanent marker, write what it is on there and leave it at that. I have been left questioning the way I do things though by a simple free program called UnderCoverXP.

What does this program do? It allows you to print pre-designed CD and DVD covers. It also does a good job and scaling down inside sleeves for DVD boxes as well. It supports the image formats JPEG, GIF, PNG, and BMP, too. One of the best things about this program that I love is that it allows you to preview the images as they would appear on your DVD box after you are done.

UnderCoverXP is written in C++ using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and doesn’t need a .NET framework or any other external libraries. This would really come in handy if you felt the need to match up boxes with your DVD collection and get your collection organized. You could also use it to print your own custom DVD covers if you did not like the one that came with your favorite movie.

I always love programs that inspire other big projects, and UnderCoverXP fits under that category.
