Take the Apple iPhone Guided Tour

I am sure we are all aware that Apple will be releasing their much anticipated IPhone on June 29th at 6:00pm. Apple has a self guided tour on their web site for those interested in seeing what the new product will have to offer to us consumers who wish to have the latest and greatest technology at our fingertips. Apple on their site states:

iPhone arrives on June 29. iPhone features an amazing mobile phone, is the best iPod we’ve ever created, and puts the Internet in your pocket with rich HTML email, web browsing, searching, and maps. And iPhone makes it all easy to use with its revolutionary multi-touch user interface. iPhone syncs with your PC or Mac just like an iPod, so organizing your content now will help you start calling, texting, emailing, surfing, listening, and watching even faster when you get your iPhone. Here are a few suggestions to help you get ready.

Making a call with iPhone is as simple as tapping a name. You won’t need to re-enter all your contacts because iPhone syncs with the address book you already use on your computer — Address Book or Entourage on a Mac, or Outlook or Outlook Express on a PC.

Using its built-in calendar, iPhone lets you check your appointments with the flick of a finger.

iPhone offers the best-ever email on a mobile device. So now your phone can display rich HTML email with graphics and photos alongside the text.

Plus many more features including being a phone as well. Some are already starting to be critical of the new device, saying that it will not be secure enough for business use, is to expensive and not worth the cost, locks consumers into a account with AT&T, and so forth.

But I believe until the iPhone actually starts being used on a dialy bases, that it is to early to tell what kind of a impact it will have in our daily lives. As with any new product, the first adopters of the new technology will pay the high cost, but as time has proven in the past, prices will certainly drop in the future.

What do you think? Will the iPhone be a hit or a miss?

Comments welcome.
