We tend to focus on a lot of the more complex Web services on the Internet today that seem to be able to do almost anything and everything, but I’ve always been a fan of the simpler services that just focus on doing one thing well. Complicated convergence solutions certainly have their place, however, sometimes you just need a break from them. For developers, it’s all about finding a need and providing a solution for that need, and I think 3DPackage is a good example of this.

3D packages and boxes are oftentimes used for software box art online, but they can also be used for other purposes. Although there are a number of desktop software titles that provide this functionality, 3DPackage does it all for you for free and online. Simply choose images for the cover, side, and top of the box and save the final image in either PNG, JPG, or GIF format. The results look great, and they’re definitely good enough to present on the Web. This may not be something that you regularly use, but for my fellow software developers, this is a nice link to have.
