You Can’t Do That With Windows!

As the Rolling Stones said, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” but later they add, “If you try sometimes, you just might find you get what you need.”

Some web sites are like that. You can’t always find what you want, but if you persevere, you get some things that will help you and are very rewarding. From the little site, Into Windows, we get a little gem for the less fortunate (or otherwise cheap).

It’s a well known fact that the Home Basic edition of Windows 7 doesn’t support Aero by default. In order to enable Aero feature in Windows 7, you need to have Home Premium or higher editions.

Sometimes, if your PC doesn’t meet Windows 7 minimum system requirements, you will not be able to see Aero. To get  Aero in Windows 7 Home Basic edition, here is a small tool that aids you enable Aero feature in Windows 7.

Aero Enabler is a small tool for Windows 7 that can enable Aero on Home Basic edition and additionally disable hardware check if required. So if your PC running Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate without Windows Display Driver Model specifications, you will be able enable Aero with this tool.

How cool is that! As time passes, I’m sure that other things will be discovered that will enable some high end features on the low end versions. There are many who feel that Microsoft divides the market too much as it is, and that there should only be two, or possibly 3 versions, instead of 7.

The nice thing about this is lots of money can be saved when these features are unlocked, and yet no piracy is occurring. It’s a win for everyone.
