Tasers as Entertainment at Big League Baseball Games?

There was an unfortunate incident at Citizens Bank Ballpark last night in Philadelphia. An incident that may lead to a strange new form of entertainment at professional baseball games across the country.

In the eighth inning of a game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the St. Louis Cardinals, a teen-aged male ran onto the field.

What followed might be described as the Twenty-First Century Keystone Cops go to the Ballgame.

Keystone Cops because… well, this did happen in the Keystone State. And it might be considered comedic entertainment for some.

A fan-recorded video hints at the potential. Listen to the fans laugh and cheer as the kid leads the police around the field in a wild chase.

“Tase him, Tase him,” one overly enthusiastic fan cheers.

And then the group “ohhhh,” as the police finally hit their mark and the kid drops to the turf.

There’s an ever-so-slight undercurrent of displeasure until the runner rises up and is escorted off the field to a resounding round of applause.

Now that’s entertainment!
