Now You Can Tag Celebrities in Your Facebook Photos, Too

Showing off your celebrity encounters with photos on Facebook is fun and can give you serious bragging rights and make your friends a little more jealous of you — at least for a few days. Unfortunately, until now it’s been impossible to actually tag celebrities in your Facebook photos like you tag your friends. To solve this problem, Facebook users have the ability to tag pages in their photos on Facebook in the same way they can tag their friends. Photo tagging for Facebook pages enables people to share richer stories with friends about the things they interact with in the real world, such as businesses, brands, celebrities, and musicians.

Tag celebrities in your Facebook photosYou can tag a page on your picture anywhere that someone can view a photo in the photo viewer. These photos will appear only on the Photos tab on the page, but will not appear on the Wall of the page, unless your privacy settings restrict the photo to be seen only by your friends. In this case, only your friends will be able to see the photo. In addition, a page can be tagged on your photo by anyone on Facebook who can see your photo, and not just people who have Liked that Page. For now, only pages within the Brands & Products or People categories brands can be tagged in photos.

To tag a single photo you are viewing with a page, click the photo you wish to tag and select “Tag This Photo” below the photo. Then, type the name of the person or product page you wish to tag. Once you’re done, click “Done Tagging” in the bottom left corner. If you don’t see the option to tag a page in your Facebook photos yet, hold tight — it looks like Facebook is in the process of rolling out the feature to all users.
