David Lynch’s Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi

Most of us have a strong opinion about whether David Lynch’s version of Dune is a barely watchable piece of sandworm dung or a visionary masterwork. (For the record, I like it, but I agree that it’s not for everyone.) But what if David Lynch had been tapped as director for Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi? The idea’s not as far-fetched as you might think; George Lucas approached the unorthodox Lynch to do just that, but was turned down. A shame, because Jack Nance as the Emperor would’ve been something to see…
