The third Gran Turismo sequel has sold over one million copies sold in merely two days since it was first introduced on Dec. 28. Gran Turismo 4 actually eclipsed the sales record set by Gran Turismo 3, which sold one million copies in three days. According to GameSpot, the series has sold an impressive 36 million copies since its inception in 1997.
While Sony Computer Entertainment’s Gran Turismo 4 missed Christmas by three days in Japan, the game nevertheless has been selling extremely well. Sony announced it has shipped one million copies of Gran Turismo 4 during its first two days of release, December 28 and 29.
Gran Turismo 4 will be released in North America during the first quarter of 2005.
