You know, the Mac mini really is small enough that you can take it anywhere. Heck, you can even take it in your car…and let it be part of the car. That’s the idea behind the mini dock that has the tag line, “for car computing mac mini.” Hey, it’s translated from Japanese, what can you say? Bearing in mind the poor translation, it seems this baby lets you install a docking station into your cars middle console and lets you start using Mac mini as if you where sitting at your desk. Slap in a microphone and according the web page you can, “order in Mac like a night rider.” I think the web site means you can give your car commands like Michael did to KITT. Other cool things you can do is play your music (even Apple DRM protected files!) via iTunes, have the Mac read your e-mail, and install GPS to guide your around in better English then the web site uses. Really, the possibilities are endless with this little dock that takes the concept of the early removable radios of the 90’s and applies it to computers. Well, Mac’s. 😉
The enclosure runs for $500 or you can get that and the LCD panel for $1,050. It’s a bit price, but since you’ve already poured so much into your Escalade’s entertainment set up in the back for the kids, why not treat yourself? Come on, yank that bankrupted Delphi and do the Switch!
