We have seen Web servers in all shapes and sizes right here on the Web Hosting Show. How would you like to own your own oddball server? Now you can get your hands on your very own.

The strange Web server in question this time around is the WebServUSB. If you haven’t guessed by now, it is an entire Web server crammed inside of a USB thumb drive.

What type of features does this tiny Web server handle? What content can it serve up?

CGI /Perl
PHP /Python
MySQL
Java / JavaScript
Flash
RealAudio
Windows Media

Here is some of the “press talk” you can find via the official Web site about it.

WebServUSB is a full featured web server programmed into flash memory a USB device. It features HTTP and FTP web services, plus a companion email server program which provides POP3 and SMTP mail services. By plugging WebServUSB into any PC with a USB port, it can enable that PC to become and Intranet (LAN) or Internet based web server. WebServUSB can provide the majority of features of a web server costing thousands of dollars all embedded in the USB flash memory. WebServUSB comes in sizes ranging from 128 megabytes to 1 gigabyte.

I would say this Web server should go into the oddball server Web Hosting Show hall of fame. It would fit just right with the iPic and the PlayStation Portable Web server. Have any other strange servers you want to share?
