Have you ever been to a Web site that didn’t lead you where you wanted to go? Maybe it took you some place you didn’t think you clicked to go to. With the help of Split Link, you can now see the true URL that you are being sent to.
What is this extension all about? This is what the developers of the extension have to say about it.
Split Link will allow you to view the true url that you are being redirected to. Sometimes links may contain hexadecimal characters or numerous parameters that make them more difficult to read. By using Split Link you can remove the parameters, remove javascript code from links, and convert all of the hexadecimal characters back to ascii.
After Split Link is installed it will appear on the right click menu. Just right click on a link and then click “Split Link”. A new window will pop up containing the reformatted url’s. If you click on one of the url’s in the new window, it will automatically redirect the parent window to that url.
To access the options page click on tools > extensions > splitlink > options. This is a very useful extension that you might get a lot of use out of, depending on how you surf.
This Firefox extension is for versions 1.4 and up of the browser. If you want to download it and try it out for yourself, you can do so at the Mozilla Update Web site.
