Cerulean Studios, source of the widely-spread instant messenger (IM) Trillian, seems to have fallen out of favor with the Google gods. It’s been dropped from the Google Pack.

The Google Pack is a bundle of miscellaneous useful utilities that is distributed from the Google more page that you can reach by hitting the ‘more’ button on the Google main search page. Inside the Pack are things like Earth, Firefox with the Google toolbar included, Norton Anti-Virus Special Edition, Picasa, and the Google Desktop search tool.

According to Cerulean Studios, “Their reasons for removing Trillian are their own and were not made available to us.”

If I had to hazard a guess, I’d be willing to say that Cerulean’s advertising conflicted with some part of Google’s always-mysterious plans. (Can you whisper Google Talk?)
