This is shaping up to be the century of new lighting. (The enlightenment?!) New LEDs are changing everything from street lights and billboards to even the basic home water faucet. Here is a faucet design called the Light Delight from Equa System in Italy that lights up the water based on the temperature. Blue water is cold, red is hot and orange is juuusssst right.

We Say: Cool idea but we can hear the shrieks as innocent guests turn on the water for the first time. No idea how much these cost – the Web site is a mess of frames and one page has a nude model holding the faucets. (Gotta love Italian advertising!)

About RealTechNews
When blogs became “hot,” we looked at the category and found a gap. Tech blogs were furiously covering gadgets and gizmos and new products from Asia, and the mainstream tech sites were diligently doing product reviews and news items, but no one was really sitting in the middle and bringing the best of both worlds to one place. Enter RealTechNews (RTN). Our mission is simple: We aim to bridge the gap between the informal and mostly amateur-run tech blogs and the polished but often slow and advertiser-supported tech portals.
