Running multiple browsers on a computer has become a common practice, especially with the number of browsers that are now available. One thing you may notice when running other browsers along side of Internet Explorer is that IE will prompt you as to whether or not you want it to be your default browser. Having to click away this prompt can become an annoyance and in such case, you can simply disable the prompt from appearing at all.

To disable this prompt in Internet Explorer 6:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. From the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the Programs tab from the Internet Options window.
  4. Remove the check beside the Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser option.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.
