Since IE 7 went to RC-1 yesterday, I’ve been hard at work seeing if it made any particular difference in the errors I outlined in my last post about IE 7 Beta 3 (Bye Bye IE 7). And it DID make differences.
IE 7 RC-1 had a lot of changes under the hood in the few days since Beta 3 went public. First off, it no longer causes Outlook 2003 to go brain-dead when asked to print something. On the other hand, the problems didn’t ALL go away. RC-1 now causes Outlook 2007 beta 2 to upchuck print errors all over the screen and the only way to get it to print is to exit Outlook entirely after doing a dance among error dialog boxes (at least on my system). At this rate, they’ll have to rename Office to version 2008. Let’s hope that Vista is in better shape!
