What is popular in today’s culture? What is the current fad that everyone is talking about? What is the old current fad? What will the next fad be? If you are interested in any of those, then today’s Warped site will amuse and entertain you. If you haven’t faintest idea where I am going with this, just click on and see what the site is all about. It will then become clear to you.
Retro Crush is the self-proclaimed “World’s Greatest Pop Culture Site.” After having spent some time there, I am inclined to agree with them. It seems to be all over the place with reviews, articles, podcasts, and links to some extremely strange sites.
One of the best is the “Beatle Mashed Potatoes,” a delightfully bizarre clip of Paul McCartney showing the Internet his special recipe for making mashed potatoes. This link takes you to the YouTube site and the video. There are reviews of new albums from The Dixie Chicks, Def Leppard, and Neil Diamond. The new version of the film “The Omen” is panned (headline is “Sux-Sux-Sux” gives you an idea of its opinion). Links to Karate Kid T-shirts, RoboCop action figures, and other retro goodies are just waiting for your mouse click. Some of the articles are given tongue-in-cheek – mostly to make their point.
This site is full of unique and interesting stuff (for lack of a better term). The Warp-o-Meter rating is a solid 7.5, which means it found some socially redeeming material here, but not much.
