With the many different computer setups we have out there in the world today, there are many different ways of controlling your speaker volume. You could use the built-in tools Windows provides. You could use an external volume knob. If you have the freeware program, VolumeTouch, you could do it a number of other ways, as well.

VolumeTouch is a freeware replacement utility for the Windows speaker icon usually located in the bottom right of your screen, next to the clock. With VolumeTouch, you can adjust the volume instantly from any application without leaving your current work.

It is easy to configure VolumeTouch to use other key combinations or mouse mode. For those options – and more – right click the VolumeTouch icon in the bottom right corner of your screen. One nice touch that I really like is the icon in your tray gets more red as the volume goes up.

So do you need a better way to manage your volume controls in Windows? Give VolumeTouch a shot! It is a small download, a free download, and also a great download.
