It is no secret, I do a lot of writing online. If I am not writing something for somebody else, I am writing something for one of my own projects. Now any writer will tell you having a good thesaurus handy is a must. Nobody likes using the same old words over and over again. Who knows, maybe you’ll find something to replace the traditional way you type. The best freeware thesaurus out there today is Mobysaurus.
Free, comprehensive, feature-rich, off-line English thesaurus that brings the exact word to your mind, serving your everyday speaking and writing purposes. In different situations, the same idea might be most effectively expressed by a different word. A thesaurus helps you make the right choice. When you use a thesaurus, you are seeking a more appropriate term than the one you have in mind.
After all has been said and done, I think the Mobysaurus thesaurus is one of the best free desktop writing tools you will find. Sure you have your text editors. Sure you probably have a few dictionaries as well. If you fear leaving your words of choice for something new though, you might find yourself in the dark.
This program is light in size but heavy on features. The auto updater is also a nice touch as well.
Before you install, you may need to pickup Microsoft’s .NET Framework – but once you get over that stepping stone I have a feeling it will be a long time before you can find a good reason to uninstall this.
