The Internet has changed how we communicate and how we interact with each other. Sites such as My Space and You Tube have helped that communication go from the written word to pictures to now videos. It has also changed how we are communicated with. Today’s Warped site is one that has an interesting concept in how we are entertained, and how that may be changing over the next few decades.
rehearsals.com is an entertainment Web site, but one with a twist. Here you can see the musical acts of today as they get ready to tour, get ready to record in the studio, and even as they are working out the final writing of a song. This is a free site, one that has a lot of promise. It is a really intimate look into how the music of today is made. And these are not just some unknown garage band that has their work featured here. Some of the acts you can see here is the Mick Fleetwood and his band, Glen Campbell, Tom Petty, Chris Issak, and the Manhattan Transfer. There are not 30 or 40 second clips either. The one of the Manhattan Transfer is over 16 minutes.
In the future, this may be the way we are entertained. Broadband Internet access will open up so many different opportunities for all aspects of our life. This must be what is was like when the telephone was first invented, hey! Warped rating on this site is 7.5.
