The Internet is being bombarded with talk about Microsoft Windows Vista and there are plenty of different views with both pros and cons of the new operating system. Some are looking at a alternatives to Windows, whether it be Linux or an Apple box.

Let me first say that I know nothing about Apple except for what I have read. But in my surfing I landed at the Apple store, which also sells refurbished units. And knowing that Apple systems are more pricey than their PC counterparts, one of the systems caught my eye because it seemed to me that it was priced fairly.

The unit is a Refurbished iMac 17-inch 1.83GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Combo Drive, 512MB (2x256MB) 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-5300), 160GB Serial ATA hard drive, 24x Combo Drive, Intel GMA 950 graphics with 64MB of shared memory, Built-in AirPort Extreme and Built-in iSight Camera for $849.00. Link here.

That was quick. As of 4-23-07, 2130 hrs. CST, Apple was sold out of these units.

So my question is this: Does this system seemed priced correctly? With its added features is this a good deal or not?

Like I said, I know nothing about Apple systems. But I must admit this did pique my curiosity. 🙂

Comments, as always, are welcome.

PS Please do not make this an Apple vs. PC topic.
