Whether you are a Symantec fan or just like to play with new software, Symantec is offering four of its products for public beta testing. Like all beta products, one should be aware that the software may have undesirable affects on your system. With this is mind, it is always a good idea to use a test system for playing with beta software. On its site, Symantec lists the following information and available beta software to try:

Welcome to Symantec’s Beta Center, where you will find up-to-date information on our active and upcoming beta releases. We invite you to take our latest products out for a test drive before they are released.

Symantec thanks you for testing our newest products and encourages your comments and feedback. With the support of enthusiastic beta testers, we are able to elevate our products to a higher quality before releasing. As a participant, you can share your ideas, and together, we can create the best products possible.

What is a Beta?

A “beta” is a pre-release version of a Symantec product that is available for public testing before the final version is released. Through public testing, we can evaluate how the product performs in “real world” environments and collect valuable feedback from you. We want you to tell us what you like and don’t like about the product and report any problems to us directly.

Products avaible for beta testing include:

If you are running any other anti-virus product it may be a good idea to either uninstall the other software product or disable it during the testing process. Use these products with caution and at your own risk. I personally am not a big Symantec fan, and this information is provided as is. 🙂

Comments welcome.
