When I open PowerPoint presentations, my preference is to have them open in Normal view with the Outline and Slides tabs displayed on the left hand side. A co-worker recently emailed me a presentation for review and each time I opened it, it opened in a different view than what I prefer.
Instead of continuously having to change the view, I discovered that PowerPoint lets you configure the view that you want to all presentations opened it. On my computer, it was configured to open all files using the view that they are saved in (the root of my problem).
Here are the steps I followed to have all presentations opened in my preferred view:
- Open PowerPoint.
- Click the Microsoft office Button.
- Click Advanced
- Click the View tab.
- Under Display, select the view you want as the default in the Open all documents using this view list.
- Click OK to save your changes.
