Bruises:
The first thing you are going to want is a bottle of pure arnica oil. You can pick this up at your local health food store, or order it online. Creams containing arnica are not that strong, and are usually not powerful enough for serious bruising. Rub a small amount of oil into the bruised area, but be sure not to place it on broken skin. This will greatly speed healing of the bruised area.

Swollen Injuries:
It is a very good idea to always keep a head of cabbage in your fridge, and a jar of clay in your cupboard. Cabbage helps to pull out toxins that cause swelling to the surface of the skin. Clay pulls the toxins from the skin, that the cabbage has brought to the surface. The lighter colors of clay are better suited for facials and ingestion. The darker colors, such as red, are excellent for pulling toxins out of deeper levels of the body. Take a leaf of cabbage, and throw it into a pot of boiling water for about 20-30 seconds. Pull out with tongs or such, and place on plate to cool. Wrap the cabbage leaf around the swollen area, and wrap a towel or cloth around it, to keep it in place. Leave this on for twenty minutes. Remove cabbage. Take a small amount of clay, depending on how large the injury is, and mix it with a little water. You can add more water as you go along, but it needs to be pretty thick. Apply the clay to the swollen region, and leave on for twenty minutes. Wash off. After about two hours, you will notice a very significant decrease in swelling. Repeat this process off and on throughout the day, until swelling is gone.
