I used to read a lot of fictional books when I was a kid, but as I grew up and gained more responsibilities in life, my reading habits began to slow down. I still loved to read, but other matters took priority, and I never seemed to be able to find the time to sit down with a good book. These days, I’ve started to make time to regularly read a book at least a couple of times a week, and I’m better off for it. With that said, many of you are probably like me in the sense that you sometimes find it hard to devote time to starting and completing a book, and because of this, you may be more interested in reading or even writing short stories. 1000Keyboards has a collection for you to take a look at and contribute to.

These stories are submitted by community members, and since they’re supposed to be between 800 and 10,000 words in length, you’ll be able to read most of them fairly quickly and feel like you’ve actually accomplished something. Several categories exist to help you find what you’re looking for, and you can also comment on and discuss the stories with other readers and the authors. Wannabe writers should submit their stories to give them some exposure and open them up to feedback. There’s definitely some undiscovered talent out there.
