Apple either wasn’t able to ramp up production enough, or it thought that Aussies would not care much for its fancy offering, as the iPod has been released in America and in Europe, but not down under.
Now it will have to settle for just being there, instead of leading the pack, as LG has launched its own touch screen phone – the Prada. In case you’re wondering, the phone retails for $999. Aussie dollars aren’t the same as those here, but the ratio of worth is not 2 to 1. LG also gives the buyer a custom leather case, to soften the blow.
The phone includes a 2MP camera, a video player, document viewer, MP3 player, and something described as a music multitasking function for messaging.
It will be interesting to see how the competition heats up, and the choice of providers factors in to the customer choice.
