In response to a previous Just Ask Matt article, one Lockergnome reader had some thoughts as to what may be happening here.
Today, Jonathan writes:
Regarding the laptop freezing up unless held perfectly still – The times I have seen similar situation has been on laptops with hard-drive protection enabled. This is the software/hardware that freezes the HD whenever there is movement to avoid a head crash if the laptop is dropped. It can be a real when you are trying to work mobile. It can also usually be disabled in the BIOS.
You know something, this actually makes a lot of sense. With any luck, anyone out there who is having similair issues with their notebook can take heart and with any luck find some success of their own here.
