I’ve been wondering how long it was going to be until people started finding the likely holes in web applications like with Google Docs of course everyone’s favorite – Gmail. It seems that gaining someone’s information is just not that difficult after all. Thankfully the bug squishing has begun to take place and since the code is all hosted, compliance is fairly simple to enforce.
And as Google has stated, they take the security of their users quite seriously. But I have to ask is, how long before something like this gets out of hand. Not necessarily with Google per se, but maybe with one of the other web application firms. Frankly, the very idea is rather frightening, especially when considering the damage we’ve seen in the past on the Windows desktop.
