If you frequently access a specific component in Vista, you will want to have the quickest access possible. The Computer window is one such example. Since it provides access to all your drives and folders and it is something that you likely open several times during the day, you will want to have quick access to it.
By putting the Computer menu on the taskbar, it is visible at all times (when multiple windows are open) therefore providing quick access to folders and drives.
To add the Computer to the taskbar:
- Right-click on the taskbar and choose the Toolbars menu.
- Click on New Toolbar.
- Select the Computer icon and then click Select Folder. The Computer folder is added to the taskbar.
