Usually when someone sells a website, one thinks of a well established site that is generating revenue and not a free one that some one has latched onto. But a person down in Australia seems to feel that his free web site is worth some cash, so he is attempting to sell it on eBay AU. If you are not familiar with blogspot and Google’s free Web site service, one only needs to sign up for a free site and start blogging.
I took a look at the Web site that is for sale here and it is a generic setup with one posting and few readers. The seller on another Web site he has located here has 59 people in his network and 16 fans. There is minimal advertising on the site. Over at eBay his web site offering has no bids thus far. He is asking bidders to start at AU 199.99.
What I found interesting is:
- How can you sell a blog that you technically do not own? Isn’t it the property of Google?
- There is nothing on the blog of any value. How can you ask for monetary consideration?
- If Google doesn’t come out with a gPhone, what value would this site have?
What do you think?
Comments welcome.
