In a rather unusual way to sell new computers for the holiday season, Dell has set up a new website that puts a twist on how to get a new PC. You can setup a virtual piggy bank of sorts and have others donate towards your purchase. You must setup a Pay Pal account which your family and friends can contribute to in your name.
In theory your new PC purchase will be made by others. Dell has employed a wide of actors and actresses to assist you in selecting which PC is right for you as well. It seems that a similar gimmick worked well for Dell in their student campaign this past fall, so the company decided to give it a try during the holiday season.
It should be interesting to see how it works out for Dell and if it improves sales.
