With the obvious demand for gaming appliances this time of year, it should come as no real shock that purchasing a Nintendo Wii is amazingly difficult right now. And despite these consoles being readily available only a few short weeks ago from Google’s Shopping engine, today there are none to be found anywhere.

For me, this begs the question of how Nintendo plans to balance the demand for the Wii with the current supply shortage. Because as mentioned here, it is a cat and mouse game that in the end, leaves the consumer high and dry on the gaming console front.

What do you think? Is this shortage an indicator that this gaming system is something truly unique and worth obtaining as early on as possible? Or instead, could this be a needed shock to our collective systems that it is time to unplug and go without these light-blinking wonders for a few years? Hit the comments, tell me about your take on this.
