  1. Make your channel page look cool. Change the background, your profile icon, and write a few things about yourself for people to see.
  2. Make videos that you and many people would enjoy. If you’re like Chris, then make a ton of good videos on technology. If you like basketball, then make a few good quality basketball video. Ask your viewers what kind of videos they would like you to upload (it will help you get subscribers).
  3. Get an alternative email address. The YouTube message system isn’t the greatest, so get an account from Gmail or some other similar site. Put your alternative email address in your channel, and tell people that’s where they should contact you. Also (like Chris), tell people your email address in your videos.
  4. Read the rules. Don’t use copyrighted material without permission, or your video will be taken off no matter how good it is. Follow all the rules, and you’ll be fine.
  5. Get a lot of friends. Once you have many friends, they are a little like subscribers (if you want them to be). You can send them one of your new videos when it comes out. Also, if you are using the bulletin option on your channel, you can send out bulletins for all your friends to see. You can post things like new videos, or things you may do on the bulletin.
  6. A bonus — and the most important tip: Subscribe to Lockergnome’s YouTube channel!
