I spent all of last week at my company’s headquarters in Atlanta, so I’ve fallen a little behind in my self-imposed pace of posting to Lockergnome IT Professionals at least once a week. I’m recommitting myself to the job, as my company went out of their way for my benefit, a notion that is exceedingly rare in corporate America these days. I feel very privileged (perhaps I’m drinking the company Kool-Aid), but this is the first time in a long time I feel energized about my work. There are so many challenges, both technical and organizational, I often don’t know where to focus my energies.
I do have a ever-growing list of topics to write about… not the least of which is my plunge into Windows Vista. I’ve got so many thoughts about that experience alone, that I will likely post it in installments. To set the tone, I’ve got very mixed feelings about the OS.
Also, there continues to be progress on my new home, which is under construction in Bixby, OK (just outside of Tulsa). If you want to catch up on that adventure, I’ve got a separate blog detailing the process.
I hope everybody is getting off to a great start in 2008.
