If you create your own charts in Word, you may want to save them as a chart template so you can reuse them later. When you want to re-use one of your charts, you simply need to apply the chart template, instead of having to re-create the chart.

To save a chart as a chart template in Word 2007:

  1. Open your document containing the appropriate chart.
  2. Click the chart that you want to save as a template.
  3. On the Design tab, in the Type group, click Save Template.
  4. In the Save in box, make sure that the Charts folder is selected.
  5. In the File name box, type an appropriate name for the chart template.
