Kevin Garnett’s competitiveness is legendary. He will not allow an opponent put in a shot, even as practice, after time has been called. As a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Kevin Garnett was a loyal team player. He never asked to be traded. He never made issues in the press about a weak lineup. And now, the Minnesota Timberwolves team owner, Glen Taylor, has come out and smeared Kevin Garnett:
“…Taylor pointed out that Garnett, who was traded to the Boston Celtics this offseason, took himself out of the lineup late last season and missed the last five games with a sore right quadriceps.
“It was more like, I’d say, K.G. tanked it,” Taylor told the Pioneer Press. “I think the other guys still wanted to play, but (the loss of Garnett) sure changed the team and didn’t make us as (good).””

How’s that for gratitude from an owner? – Perhaps Glen Taylor wasn’t paying attention during the Garnett years in Minnesota. It just isn’t in Garnett’s DNA to ‘tank it’. It is no wonder that the Minnesota Timberwolves will start their summer holidays early again this year. Kevin Garnett will play on after the regular season.
