I had just finished reading a piece about Apple, and this popped into my head. I am surprised I never gave it a thought before.

Microsoft is always downplaying Apple, yet at one time an infusion of cash from Microsoft kept Apple alive. Since the market share is so small, why does Microsoft, admitted enemy of all things non-Microsoft, bother with any of the applications for Macs? Why do they have Mac extensions for the server software they supply?

It might be that the Apple bunch is a very vocal crowd – but then so were the millions telling Microsoft to save XP, and that fell on deaf ears. There is a reason for Apple to be there, in limited ability, so that Microsoft is not perceived as the monopoly it really is – but these software pieces – isn’t that going a bit far?

What do you think?
