As most are aware Microsoft wishes to move much of computing off the desktop and into the ‘cloud’, which, as descriptive terminology goes, is fairly lame, but more on that later. The idea is to allow computers to interact to a much greater degree, which is the proclaimed aim of any malware author, so it’s nice to see that these groups have something in common. Seriously, the Microsoft idea is not a bad one, but the timing is off – or is it?

Adobe also must think the time is right, and sees a way to do it with its own product line, cutting Microsoft almost completely out of the picture.

The pictures and descriptions on ZDNet look compelling, and the Acrobat site looks very comforting, and comfortable, (although I was greeted at the door with that ‘Your browser is not supported’ nonsense). Proceeding into the site was very smooth, although when this catches on, it will be interesting to see how well Adobe has prepared for it to take off.

It certainly knocks down the idea that only Google can challenge Microsoft on any front.

Thoughts?
