I woke up this morning and saw a commercial on TV for “Army Wives”. Now, I’ve never seen the show and really don’t think I’d be interested in it. What caught my attention was immediatley after the commercial McCain came on with the opening statment “Army Wives has alot of twists and turns, I know because my wife makes me watch it with her.” Then he launched into a speech on our troops and plugged www.lifetime.com as a place to go to learn how to support them.
Now, come on, are Americans so out of the political issues that candidates have to plug television series to get our attention? I’d like to know your thoughts on political advertisments on television. Personaly, I think they should be limited to radio advertisments or advertising through the mail. What happened to the time when candidates would go on personal tours and meet the people face to face?
