In this WeatherBug API contest entry, we have a PHP application that could potentially be a very strong fit for existing CMS systems such as Drupal or WordPress. This application is called the PHP Weather Widget and I have to say, it presents a lot of possibilities. Want to add it to your we site? Grab the code from this zipped folder linked here.
Here’s a partial list of benefits with the PHP Weather Widget that come to mind:
- Integration with an existing CMS.
- Could be designed to work well with iframes for simple placement on a web page.
- Would also be a potential candidate for use at Widgetbox.
One other thing to note is that applications such as this are eligible for revenue sharing based on the number of impressions the web application is driving back to WeatherBug.com. If you develop an application with a high number of active users, this could prove to be a great supplemental income for the developer.
