I have previously purchased electronic items from Circuit City so I receive sale advertisements from the company. This morning I received a newsletter from CC for what they call a ‘3-Day Sale’, and thought I would take a look see on what they were selling. Knowing that CC was in a financial bind, I thought that they would be inclined to offer some real bargains ala Black Friday pricing.

Before I begin, this is not a anti CC piece nor a pro Best Buy piece, it is just a comparisons between the two. Also some of the items I may use may not be of interest to you.

I’m thinking of replacing my 42″ Panasonic Plasma in my LR with a 50″ Panasonic Plasma and put the 42″ in the BDR via a wall mount. So I checked the price of the 50″ on CC’s site and they have it priced at $1,099. Over at BB it’s priced the same. Amazon beats both of the at $975 and free shipping. I’m looking for a price of $800. 🙂

How about the Nintendo DS at $129. Deal or no deal? BB is the same. So is Amazon & Wal-Mart.

Basically as I went through the sale page at CC their pricing was nothing to write home about. :-(. If they think they are going to be able to stay in business without drastically cutting pricing, they may be sadly mistaken. Closing 155 stores may not be enough. These guys could be heading to OOB – Out of Business status.

What do you think? Can CC make it without some dare devil pricing scheme?

Comments welcome.
