Dell has been offering a downgrade service in which certain Dell computer systems qualify for a downgrade from Windows Vista to Xp. It seemed that Microsoft was content with the idea, since it got to sell two licenses on one PC. The original pricing was $50 for the downgrade. But now Dell is charging $150 for their popular Inspiron 1525 models.
What is also interesting is that as more people by new Netbook computers, they most likely will end up with Microsoft Windows XP preinstalled.
Do you think that Dell is gouging on the price to downgrade? In these hard economic times is this a smart move on Dell’s part?
