It’s been a bit since I managed to get much guitar or tube content posted.  Between my rather strange life and keeping an eye on how we’re getting screwed, it’s been busy.

TUBES

Fun with Tubes – this is a Yahoogroups.com group.  It is a tremendous resource for the tube-obsessed, regardless of knowledge level.  If the people there help me, you will get the answers you need.  Just lurking is an education.  Visit the FUN WITH TUBES website.  Both are run by Max Robinson, a truly good guy who wants to spread the knowledge.

Boatanchors – another Yahoogroups group, this deals with very large, old shortwave tube radios.  If you like old electronics, this is the place to hang out.  These groups are a tremendous knowledge store.  A related group is Hallicrafters, which specializes in this brand of radio.

Old Tube Radio Network – currently rebuilding, a good site for theory

The LXH2 Website – analog amp and speaker simulation info+more.  This guy built a combination Fender and Marshall amp simulator with no tubes that has to be heard to be believed – I tried it out (and I hate everything).

modman diy resource links – blog on building, repairing, and learning

Antique Electronics  – THE place to buy your tubes and everything for your old radios, guitar amps, and projects.  And if you find yourself in the Phoenix, AZ area, stop in – they’re in Tempe.  It’s the vacation destination of tube geeks 🙂

Eurotubes – if you have a guitar or stereo amp and want the best tube for that particular amp, ask here.  They will tell you which brand or model will work best in that slot.  Excellent for guitar amp geeks who need the right amount of gain in the 2nd position 12AX7.

Ceriatone – itching to build an exact copy of a tweed Deluxe?  Don’t have $20k to buy a Dumble?  Buy a kit from Ceriatone.  You will not be disappointed (I built their DC30 kit, see my page on it).  Nik will also build it for you (his build quality is pure art).  You can purchase anything from partial kits to complete amps at very reasonable prices (make sure you factor in shipping, which is listed).  He will even customize a kit for you.  I am a satisfied customer.
