Launched the day after Christmas, a campaign to use a virtual likeness of John Lennon to persuade viewers to support the One Laptop Per Child initiative is a bit spooky for some.
The message, and likeness, was approved by Yoko Ono Lennon, John’s widow. Although this is a good cause, I am left with an uneasy feeling about this. I can’t explain it, and probably should not feel this way, but the feeling lingers.
No matter, the ads will be appearing for a while on cable and satellite commercial breaks – no reason given as to why it is not appearing on broadcast television.
