Microsoft Word, along with other Microsoft Office applications, lets you easily clear all formatting (such as bold, underline, italics, color, superscript, subscript) from your text and return to the default formatting styles. You can accomplish this using the Clear Formatting command.

To clear the formatting of text in your document:

  1. Select the text in your document that you want to clear the formatting from. 
  2. Click the drop down arrow beside the Style field and click the Clear Formatting option.
