I was recently notified by one of my bosses that a manager, high up in the chain absolutely loses his mind over employees using Firefox. “You have to use Internet Explorer” he is quoted as saying. If you even dare send a screenshot of an error with one of our products, he is said to throw a fit. This is the same manager that believes that locking our intranet site down to where all content has to be approved by somebody and employees can’t exchange data between one another freely is the future of the company. How in touch this guy is with the future?

This is the perfect example of how narrowminded managers are sometimes and how they spend time, energy and money trying to lock their employees down and limit them. The world is adopting more open standards. Locking people down and not allowing them to do, say or use the things the want is not the future. Letting people use the tools they choose and be free is.
