Richard and I talk to Rhonda Layfield about what’s coming in the Microsoft deployment tools for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. We talk about Windows PE — the Windows Preinstallation environment that presents a minimum install environment (fits on a CD or USB key) that then facilitates using Windows Desktop Deployment to deploy the operating system and software. Finally, they explore the Windows Deployment Toolkit, part of Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK).

Rhonda has been in the IT industry for 27 years beginning with 7 years in the US Navy as a communications specialist with a top secret clearance.
