Another joke from those wacky Republicans. First, it was the compassionate conservative moniker, then came the landslide of propaganda about the ‘average American’ belonging to the Republican party. Where will it stop? Perhaps we need to stop worrying about what party the average American belongs to, if trying to force alignment, and start identifying what party the exceptional American belongs to.

There’s no lack of idiocy from the daughter of the last Republican presidential candidate’s daughter. Megan McCain no brings up the idea that there should be a progressive Republican movement. Wow, I thought that party already existed – they’re called Democrats. Apparently this woman doesn’t understand that progressive and conservative are, in most instances, diametrically opposed.

Meghan McCain Calls for a Progressive Republican Movement

Last night Sen. John McCain’s daughter Meghan addressed the Log Cabin Republicans. In her speech, which barely made mention of gay issues, she spoke about how old school Republicans are scared shitless about the future. She called for Republicans to stop embracing divisive issues and become more progressive.

She described what she has seen since she ventured into politics after the 2008 elections, “I did not expect my frustration with what I perceive to be overly partisan and divisive Republicans to cause a national incident. And no, I’m not that engaged with myself to think it was even that much of an incident. People in our country have much more important issues to deal with on a daily basis. But the experience did reinforce what I learned on the campaign trail in some major ways. I’ll summarize them in three points: Most of our nation wants our nation to succeed, most people are ready to move on to the future, not live in the past, and most of the old school Republicans are scared shitless of that future.”

Well, her assessments are correct, but her conclusion is not. all who feel the way she speaks of in those last three sentences are not members of the Republican party . Democrats, Libertarians, professed Independents, possibly Greens, but no way are these people Republicans.

It sounds like its time to try to stop trying to please her father, and become part of the party she aligns with on ideals, not labels.
